I tried to explain or at least hint what the poem is about in the title: Ashley, who is literally mentally retarded, practices aloud on the streetcar. The rest of the poem is what Ashley says aloud as she practices. It's kind of a found poem, because I actually overheard this girl Ashley saying this.
