Interesting choice of topic. I'm kind of surprised you didn't write about this in any of your poems sooner, actually. :)
Hm.
(I realize that is not really a comment, but I wanted to let you know that I read it and it will take some time to sink in.)
true story?
Some of the lines in this could be slogans for our generation's destruction of sexuality. There is a question I now have to ask you.. will holla @ you soon
It's not a particularly depressing poem but for some reason it made me very sad.
Youth is such a funny illness. It's sometimes a little disenchanting to look back on what people told us would be the "best years of [our] lives" and remember shining moments like this. I've a few that I try not to think about. But realistically, I admire your honesty. Most people are like me -- they'd rather forget than immortalize it in a truly strong piece of writing. I feel as though I get to know you a little better with every poem I read, and that's pretty impressive as far as I'm concerned.
